Inexpensive Literacy Packs for Primary Schools

Cut down on your paperwork and buy yourself some time by covering topic work in your literacy hour!

Broadsword Publications has been helping teachers find a bit more time in the busy curriculum for five years by offering schools inexpensive lesson packs that combine literacy with history. All our packs are simply illustrated in  black and white and provide a valuable tool to help busy teachers save time when planning for their classes.
Our packs contain whole class reading texts, suggestions for word and sentence level work as well as photocopiable worksheets for group activities and weekly plans for literacy hour.  The main points of the topic are covered in the literacy hour leaving your history lesson free for enrichment activities such as drawing, researching, art work, making topic books or class discussions.

There are eight packs available to suit pupils from year two to year six, covering different areas of the history curriculum and up to four weeks of literacy hours.

Responding to suggestions from schools we have now produced our own inexpensive reading books that are available to schools together with a pack containing photocopiable work sheets and weekly plans covering two weeks of literacy hours. The books are presented in the same simple format  as the packs but contain no illustrations.
There are two titles available - both for year three.
